Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber talk up Halloween video and Christmas song on Twitter

Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber are into the festive spirit this time. Justin Bieber is tweeting up the next single from his Christmas album and Lady Gaga is embracing “Gagaween” just in time for Halloween.

Lady Gaga posted a link to a fan-made video featuring her lookalike in a Nightmare Before Christmas-inspired Halloween video clip and tweeted, “OK THIS IS AMAZING MONSTER VIDEO, haus of gaga just peed in the bed laughing. This girl looks just like me! GAGAWEEN.”

Lady Gaga fans have also been tuning in to her Twitter feed to be the first to see the artwork for her single "Marry The Night."

Justin Bieber is encouraging his followers to tweet about his latest Christmas-themed single “The Christmas Song.”

“Last week u all did an incredible job getting #MISTLETOE to #1 so Im excited to see what u do with #TheChristmasSong aka #Chestnuts 2morrow,” chirped Bieber.

Elsewhere on the microblogs, American singer Katy Perry has racked up more than 11 million followers, Taiwanese-based singer Leehom Wang has surpassed the 9 million fans mark and American actor Ashton Kutcher has topped 8 million followers.

On China’s Twitter equivalent, actress Xie Na has overtaken fellow actress Yang Mi to become the third most popular weibo user. The Chinese star also surpassed the 11 million fan milestone.

Chinese actor Chen Kun has been pushed out of Sina Weibo’s top ten by prominent IT executive and Innovation Works Chairman and CEO Kai-Fu Lee, who enters the top microbloggers chart with more than 8.5 million followers.

In September 2011, Twitter CEO Dick Costolo said Twitter had over 200 million registered users. Sina reported that it had more than 200 million registered users on Sina Weibo in August 2011.
